Al Ain museum houses small collections of coins belonging to different periods. The most ancient is a silvered bronze coin, which shows the head of Herakles covered with the lion skin. The Aramaic inscriptions shown on the reverse indicate that the coin was locally minted, as an early imitation of an Alexandrine tetradrachm.
